Besides yourself, this bank needs at least two more depositing clients, one of which will be one of the four big commercial banks of South Africa. Yes, ABSA, Standard Bank, FNB, and Nedbank will be your clients. They are actually your bank’s sponsors. That means for every rand of your own you deposit, they will match it with R4. However, they won’t be interested in small deposits. They prefer deposits of R200,000 or more.

For example, if you invest R200,000 in your own bank, they will match it with R800,000 of their money. That means your “bank” has R1,000,000 to work with.

Your bank needs to pay interest on deposits made by Commercial Banks, but this is where the third depositor comes in. This one can be called a consumer client of your bank. He pays a monthly fee for using your bank’s retail products, which will cover the interest due on the bank’s deposits.

How do you make money with this bank of yours?

Your “bank” reinvests your clients’ deposits in fixed assets, which delivers an average return of about 50% annually. As the third client pays the interest of the commercial banks, this 50% return is yours to deal with as you wish. The beauty here is that your bank’s value is not diluted if you use 10% for personal purposes, such as holidays!

Oops, I nearly forgot to tell you about the cherry on top … the returns on the capital are 100% tax-free!
